Tuesday Talks with Edward Tricomi
On August 25th, 2020 Edward had the opportunity to sit down and speak with nutritionist Amber Trejo from beRevolutionaire to discuss the importance of eating healthy and focusing on your wellbeing through your mind, body, and soul.
Who is Amber Trejo?
Amber Trejo is a nutritionist at beRevolutionaire who helps women be the healthiest versions of themselves. She has a masters in nutrition, is a personal trainer, she owns a business, and simultaneously going to school to be a registered dietician. beRevolutionaire is a company made by women for women. The company is all about focusing on your wellbeing through your mind, body, and soul.
Lets Talk About: BODY
Amber mentions that you need ways to workout your cardiovascular health as well as your gastrointestinal health and overall health of your body. She recommends that you get 10,000 steps a day to be heart healthy. Amber and Edward also go into detail about the importance of yoga. Yoga is great for your bodies gastrointestinal system. The movement and mind clarity work together to make your body and mind at ease. Amber proceeds to say that her clients with gastro problems such as IBS (irritable bowl syndrome) really benefit from doing yoga. Your gut and mind are connected and yoga can turn on a digestive state to create good gastro health.
Edward also keys in on the benefits of being physical. Taking up something that requires you to have "free-range motion". His example was boxing, because you're using your entire body to manipulate motion and key in on parts of your body, it will help your body's overall health.
Both Edward and Amber mentioned that any physical exercise is beneficial for your mind and how your body and mind are connected. Meditation and yoga are perfect examples of what you should do to keep your body healthy.
Let's Talk About: SKIN & HAIR.
Amber says that skin and hair health starts with what you eat. You need key nutrients to obtain healthy skin and hair. She mentions that a balanced diet with carbs, proteins, and healthy fats. You want to think about nutritional food and balance. Vitamins through your food is a perfect way to get them without taking supplements. Vitamin C supports structure and collagen while reducing free radicals. Vitamin C can be found in broccoli, sweet potatoes, and green peppers. Vitamin E is great for repairing the skin. To obtain more Vitamin E, you can eat nuts and seeds. Walnuts are a great source of Vitamin E while also suppling omega which is great for the brain, skin and hair. An iron deficiency has been known for hair loss so having iron based foods like lentils, broccoli, and eggs would be beneficial. You also want to be eating those Vitamin C foods because Vitamin C helps with the absorption of Iron to increase oxygen to the hair to promote hair growth.
Edwards brings up a fantastic point of "intuitive eating". Understanding, and listening to what your body needs. Your body knows what it needs and listening to it can give your body the nutrients it's craving. Everything is connected, as Edward states "what you say, you manifest." He mentions that putting out positive thoughts and a positive mindset and be beneficial for your mind and body which then helps give you a healthy appearance.
